OLGA TUMURUC AT THE MOLDOVAN-POLISH BUSINESS FORUM: "DIGITAL ECONOMY IS AN INNOVATIVE ECONOMY"
The Moldovan-Polish Business Forum on digital economy and modern electronic solutions for business management in several sectors took place in Chisinau on 15 November 2022. It was attended by a delegation of the e-Governance Agency (EGA).
At the beginning of the event, the EGA Director, Olga Tumuruc, welcomed the participants of the Forum on behalf of the EGA team, and on behalf of the Deputy Prime Minister for Digitalization, Iurie Turcanu. She noted that the event aims at strengthening bilateral and regional cooperation, the development of new partnerships and reliable economic connections, as well as at sharing experiences and best practices, which will be put into practice for the benefit and the common public interest.
"Now more than ever, in view of the war we are facing, we should join our efforts and cooperate stronger and smarter in order to build our capacities, and work in synergy for the resilience of our countries and citizens. The modern economy is certainly based on digital technologies and highlights the organisations' and individuals' opportunity and necessity to use technologies in order to work better, faster and more efficiently than before. Thus, digital economy is an innovative economy. In this context, one of the Government's priorities is to support the business community and provide the necessary guidance, tools and means to enable the digital transformation of businesses in Moldova”, said Olga Tumuruc.
The EGA Director specified that government efforts are directed towards facilitating the interaction between the business community and public authorities, as well as creating the necessary legal and administrative setting to allow and stimulate the use of digital identity not only in relation to public entities, but also in the regulation and organization of legal and contractual relations between companies or within the company.
The priority areas, the main objectives and the ongoing projects on the agenda of digital transformation of the Republic of Moldova were the main issues discussed by e-governance experts of the e-Governance Agency and the Information Technology and Cyber Security Service with Polish representatives during the thematic panel discussions at the Forum. The participants agreed to identify areas of cooperation, share their experiences and provide mutual support, in particular in the areas of cyber security, e-medicine, e-education and digital economy.
The event was organized by the Polish Embassy in Moldova, in partnership with the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Digitalization of the Republic of Moldova, Moldova IT Park, ATIC. It provided the representatives of the private and public sectors with the opportunity to learn from the Polish experience and to identify opportunities for cooperation and capacity building.
